"You Can Pull A Person Out Of A Burning Building.
You Can Pull A Person Out Of A Raging River.
You Can Pull A Person Out Of Anything.
If...You're Strong Enough."
I have never liked the saying,
"Nobody can really help you. The only person who can help you is yourself."
I believe, that if another person is strong enough, they can pull anyone out of anything,
any situation,
any problem.
The human condition is one of being an individual
,and,
a member of the human species.
A person can save themselves
,and,
another person can save them as well.
Me?
I prefer to save myself, so I can get stronger.
But...someday...when I truly need it, I would like to be saved by someone...
I can imagine it must feel truly wonderful.

If You Never Tell Someone They Have Limits...
"If You Never Tell Someone They Have Limits,
They Never Know They Have Any."
Are human beings limits real, or are they self-imposed or imposed on us by others?
Me?
I believe human beings have no limits.
none.
I think all the "limits" that hold us back, are the ones we have been told we have,
and, poor, innocent children that we are,
believed were true.
Every human being must ask themselves,
"Am I happy feeling that I am limited?"
Me?
hell no.
They Never Know They Have Any."

When One Says I Know...
"When One Says, 'I Know', One Closes One's Mind To Knowing More."
"I Don't Know, Is A Very Wise Thing To Know."
I believe that it is vitally important that instead of children being "instructed" in school,
children "seek out" knowledge themselves,
of their own passion and motivation,
and what they learn is full of the magic and wonder of discovery,
not revision and regurgitation.
"When A Person Discovers Something On Their Own,
They Make It A Part Of Themselves.
When A Person Is Instructed In Something As Passed Down Knowledge,
It Is 'Stored', But Not Integrated."

When You Compose Your Words...
"When You Compose Your Words, You Compose Your Mind."
On a CBC documentary I watched last night, Barack Obama was referred to as a "poet".
Quite right.
He is a careful craftsman with his words.
Being so, invariably results in his mind, his thinking, sharing the careful construction he gives to his writing, and, subsequent discourse.
"Words Give Shape To One's Reality."
Words are Humanity's unique attribute among the rest of our fellow animal species.
They undeniably are fundamentally entwined with our existence.
Words cannot be separated from being Human.
Everyone should be raised to be artisans with their words.
Until we learn how to communicate telepathically, they invariably shape our perception of the world.
Using them with great humanity is a must.

What People Won't Share During Peace Time...
"What People Won't Share During Peace Time,
They Are Forced To Share During War Time."
So long as Human Beings do not distribute resources equitably among everyone there will be war.
Human Beings have a voice inside themselves that can never be silenced,
constantly saying that, "We are all valuable. All unlimited. We should all be treated humanly."
War is actually a unique time during Human life.
Barriers and restrictions that once existed are removed by the necessity of rapid growth and development.
Sadly, much of the growth is in weapons development.
Humanity needs to ask itself if it continues to want its major spurts of growth to be the result of the impetus imposed on the species by war.
It does not have to be so.
When Human Beings are allowed and encouraged to express their feelings freely,
the pent up anger and frustration over not being integrated with oneself never arises,
and people do not have the need to communicate their feelings through violence.

To Help Someone Understand Something...
"To Help Someone Understand Something,
Find Something They Know,
Then Demonstrate The Commonality Between The Two Seemingly Disparate Things.
The Fact That Everything Is Related To Everything Else Makes This Much Easier."
One of the special people I have known in my life explained one day how she had taught a bunch older ladies about investing.
The older ladies knew nothing about investing, but they knew cooking like the back of their own hand.
My friend spent a few hours explaining how to invest money, constantly referring back to the example of cooking to illustrate her explanations.
She said it was incomparably satisfying to see the bright light of understanding and comprehension in the ladies faces.
"Anybody can understand anything."
"If You Can Understand One Thing,
You Can Understand Anything."
If you understand that using soap while washing your hands removes dirt,
you can understand anything in the universe.

Deprivation Is The Motivation...
"Deprivation Is The Motivation Of Capitalism."
How does Capitalism motivate people?
By depriving them of resources and making their acquirement the central goal of human existence.
Depraved?
Oh yes.
Deplorable?
All too much.
Can we do better?
Lets.

Injustices Which Are Not Addressed...
"Injustices Which Are Not Addressed During Peace Time,
Become The Demands Of War Time."
War is a temper tantrum, thrown by people who were not understood.
War is when Human Beings are in extremis, when their needs are being critically unacknowledged.
Just as all a child needs is for adults to dedicate as much time as is needed to understand and address the child's needs,
so to do people need to have their unaddressed needs acknowledged and addressed.

Nothing Is More Satisfying...
"Nothing Is More Satisfying Than When Somebody Asks,
'How Do You?' And : You Do."
"Nothing Is More Electrifying Than When Somebody Asks,
'Does Anybody Know?' And : You Know."
"Nothing Is More Fulfilling Than When Somebody Pleads,
'Can Somebody Help?' And : You Can."
We human beings derive our sense of meaning and purpose from the validation of our existence by others, from our usefulness and value to others.
"It is through the eyes of others that our lives have significance."
Thus, a human life is most actualized when a human being is full of resources and abilities which they can share with their fellow human beings to help in their own growth and enhancement.
The recognition and validation that comes from being useful and knowledgeable is without compare.

When A Person Pushes Their Limits...
"When A Person Pushes Their Limits,
They Open The Door To Guidance."
When a person has tried all the possibilities they can conjure up for themselves,
they are ready to hear the recommendations of others.
We human beings have a keen survival instinct that tells us we must develop ourselves to be strong in order to survive and thrive.
We seek assistance when we feel we have exhausted all of our own resources.
This is good.
Doing so demonstrates to oneself one has a great deal of natural ability,
and seeking out guidance only adds to this ability and enhances oneself.
"Human beings can strengthen others, when they themselves are already strong."

If A Person Is Encouraged To Do Things...
"If A Person Is Encouraged To Do Things On Their Own,
While Knowing That If They Need Help They Merely Need To Ask,
A Person Will Grow Strong."
Human Beings need to do things on their own.
Human Beings need the guidance of their fellow Human Beings.
By encouraging human beings to strive and encounter for themselves the situations where they need assistance, human beings gain the strength that comes from pushing their limits, and the wisdom that comes when a person is open because they have pushed their limits.

Before One Can Strengthen Others...
"Before One Can Strengthen Others,
One Must Become Strong Oneself."
It is admirable and noble that one of the highest goods of our society is helping one another to be healthy and happy.
That said, the goal is unsustainable if a person desirous of aiding others is not already strong themselves.
In such situations, the person rendering aid is succeeding only in draining their own reserves of energy.
It is natural that human beings want to help one another.
There is no need for this behavior to be encouraged, it comes naturally from us.
We are very essentially a gregarious, social animal where assisting each other is as natural as breathing.
Our next step, is to absolutely, 100% insure that the members of our species are strong.
Every single person is raised to be strong and confident in themselves.
This is very easy to do.
Simply encourage a person to do things for themselves and let them know that whenever they need help, they merely have to ask and it will be given gladly.
That's it.

Hurt Feelings Are Like...
"Hurt Feelings Are Like A Wound,
If They Are Not Acknowledged And Healed,
They Will Fester Inside Of Oneself,
And Be The Cause Of Future Pains,
Whose Root One Does Not Remember,
Because The Original Pain Was Buried And Ignored."
"Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind Is Poor Medicine."
This is essential advice for parents to be aware of.
If the pains their children experience are not expressed freely and openly,
then they will fester inside of their hearts and souls,
and be responsible for future injuries,
the cause of which they no longer recall.
"Treat Wounds Before They Become Infected."
also applies to emotional wounds.

Everybody Does The Best They Can...
"Everybody Does The Best They Can With What They Know.
Naturally, That Means Nobody Knows What Is The "Right" Way To Do Something.
All Everyone Is Doing Is Their Best, Given Their Experience.
No More. No Less."
People will give you their advice, with the best of intentions.
If it "resonates" with you, then incorporate it.
If it does not, then know that everyone has their own unique perspective on life,
but,
nobody knows what is the "right" way to live it,
because,
there is no "right" way,
there is their way,
and,
there is your way.
Right and Wrong are simple labels which do not communicate the shades of feeling in human existence.

Dreams Are The Blueprints...
"Dreams Are The Blueprints Of Invention."
Any invention starts off as a picture in someone's head.
Understanding this makes the idea of "real" a somewhat subjective one doesn't it then.
Furthermore, it makes being a "dreamer" an essential aspect of humanity's existence,
after all,
human inventiveness is wholly dependent on human ability to dream.

The Best Kinds Of Relationships...
"The Best Kinds Of Relationships Are Those Where A Person Needs To Learn Something,
And The Other Person Can Teach Them That Something."
Seeking.
Questing.
Journeying.
Striving to find an answer.
On the path,
we meet many people.
The ones that we "truly" connect with are the ones where :
1. They taught us,
and the ones where,
2. We could teach them.
Human beings are on this Earth to learn and grow and change.
People whom we meet who help us do that,
are the ones most precious to us.

When There Are Rich People And Poor People...
"When There Are Rich People And Poor People,
Inevitably The Poor Will Envy And Resent The Rich,
And The Rich Will Scorn And Look Down Upon The Poor.
And, Sadly, This Inevitably Leads To Revolutions."
"For All Human Beings Need Resources And Recognition.
And ALL Human Beings Have Limitless Potential.
Thus, When Some Have Much More, An Explanation Needs Be Given.
And Since Humanity Still Does Not Much Engage Emotions,
Both The Poor And The Rich Engage Their Reason,
Sadly Tainted With Bitter Emotion,
And The Reasons Developed,
Become Ones Which Befoul Everyone."
The solution, as always, is simple :
Express Emotions.
Honestly and Openly.
We're all Human.
All our problems stem from unexpressed feelings. (period)

The Reason Parents Scream At Their Children...
"The Reason Parents Scream At Their Children, When They Are Not Doing What They Are Told, Is Because Parents Envy Their Children's Youth And The Untapped Life That Lies Ahead Of Them."
Parents are only human.
It takes an incredible amount of maturity and satisfaction with one's life to be able to be genuinely happy for those of us who are younger and have yet to squander away a life pursuing false-feeling paths and ingenuine expectations.
It is up to this upcoming generation to raise themselves happy and genuinely satisfied with their lives,
so that when they have children of their own,
they do not begrudge them a youth of energy and passion and excitement.
Kids.
We're counting on you.
Raise yourselves happy and strong.

He Who Demands Discipline...
"He Who Demands Discipline From Others, Needs Others To Surround Him With Discipline, Lest He Himself Becomes Undisciplined."
Why?
Because "discipline" is an unnatural human state.
It means forcing oneself to do what one does not want to.
Forcing oneself to act how one does not feel "natural".
Demanding that human beings behave in a way that is not human, that is inhuman, and, consequently, inhumane.
Natural States of being are Naturally Self-Supporting.
What does this mean?
Take the time to know yourself, and you will act how it is natural for you to act.
No discipline required.
Poor parents who discipline children wonder why they raise people who fear them.
They mistake fear for respect. A common error to make.
Fear is born of being disciplined.
Respect is born of being loved.
I do not believe disciplining another human being is love.
It feels unnatural, unpleasant, and simply put, horrible to discipline another human being.
Is it any wonder then that it produces unnatural results.
Heil! ring any funeral bells?
sigh.
Poor Hitler.
An angry, clever boy who could only find recognition in an enraged country by being more enraged than everyone else.

The Most Terrifying Thing To Do...
"The Most Terrifying Thing To Do, If You Have Been Raised To Always Be Running, Is : To Stop."
There we go.
The current unrelenting pain of humanity.
The legacy of the Capitalist system.
Unchecked competition.
A vicious race for survival.
"If You Don't Keep Up, You WILL Be Left Behind.
Parents raise their children to be competitive, to be fighters, because they know that their fellow human beings will eat them alive, if they let their guard down for a moment.
But.
Is this Really the way it is?
I don't think so myself.

When A Door Is Closed...
"When A Door Is Closed, A Window Is Opened.
When A Window Is Closed, A Trap Door Is Opened.
When A Trap Door Is Closed, A Roof Hatch Is Opened.
,and, When A Roof Hatch Is Closed, There Is Always Something Opened."
I take this proverb as one to give me a sense of hope.
This is the very nature of existence.
"The only constant in the universe is change."
That everything is always closed, simply put, does not happen.
That everything is always open, does not happen.
One is never trapped.
Nor is one ever free.
One is always : both, at the exact same time.
This can be a cause for despair, or a cause for hope.
The choice rests with the person.
I like hope.
It feels right...to me.
That said.
If I had not known despair, I would not know hope.
I believe one more favorite proverb is in order.
= = = =
"There Are ALWAYS Options."
Even when I felt like a coward.
Even when I felt like I was losing an opportunity.
Even when I felt like I knew what I had to do but I was just too afraid to do it,
I would be consoled and reassured by the quiet yet certain voice that told me,
there was ALWAYS another way.
I just had to find it.
There was ALWAYS enough time.
There was ALWAYS enough money.
There was ALWAYS enough specialness inside of me to make it worthwhile to go on.
Thanks Worf. (Star Trek : TNG. Season 1)
I owe you one.
I'll buy you a Blood Wine when we meet in an unseen tomorrow.

It Is Difficult To Celebrate...
"It Is Difficult To Celebrate The Success Of Others,
If One Does Feel They Can Celebrate Their Own."
It's hard to be happy for other people, if you yourself aren't happy, and this is perfectly natural.
It is not something to be ashamed of, or something to be punished and reprimanded.
It is as natural as breathing or water seeking equilibrium.
I always would feel ashamed when I would hear about the success of people I knew and would feel a sharp stab of jealousy tinged with personal regret.
Shame.
That would be there too.
Throughout my own life, I have always felt that I was not achieving anything of significance.
Yet, through it all, I have always had an undilutable feeling that I was meant to do special, remarkable things with my life.
I thank Mom for this.
She always told me I was special, and I believed her because she said it with confidence and faith in me.
Thanks Mom. : ' )
Everyone should feel special.
Everyone should be engaged in activities which make them feel special.
Everyone IS special, and their life should be one which reflects this truth.
Of course, it is well nigh impossible to celebrate another's success when one isn't being successful in their own right.
How can they?
Deep inside they know they are capable of anything, anything at all.
The knowledge that they are not fulfilling their innate abilities cannot be anything but frustrating and spawning of resentment.
And.
It should.
Powerful negative energy catalyzes action.
The quest, to release the negative energy and balance it with positive.
It certainly has for me.
All my jealousies and frustrations I have cultivated into a desire to do great things with my life.
nothing short of : changing the whole world.
I couldn't let myself go through all the suffering I did for nothing after all. ; )
I deserve better.

If Life For You Is A Battle...
"If Life For You Is A Battle, You Will Always Find Enemies.
If Life For You Is A Journey, You Will Always Encounter Guides.
Life Did Not Change.
Only Your Perception Of It."
Our poor, bloodied, weary society is ladened with phraseology ripe with statements like,
"Fight Breast Cancer!"
"Fight Heart Disease!"
"Fight Illiteracy!"
"Fight Fighting! (...i mean) Fight Violence!"
"Don't Let Cancer Beat You! Beat Up Cancer!"
"Strike A Blow For Human Rights!"
"Smash Ignorance!"
"Destroy Poverty!"
"Make Aids...History (...for good.)"
Our poor society views existence as a never ending battle with no rest in sight.
Life is just one long, ceaseless struggle for brief moments of happiness, filled with nearly non-stop experiences of pain and injury.
I ask : is life really like this?
Why then are we always talking about life like we are engaged in mortal struggle to the death with it?
Me?
...i'm tired of fighting...
i just want to be happy and for everyone to be happy.
no fighting necessary.

That Which You Control...
"That Which You Control, Can't Hurt You."
The motivation for wanting to control anything.
Poor Humanity...
We've suffered so much during our existence.
It is no wonder we strive so desperately to control things, so that we don't have to suffer so much debilitating pain.
But.
Control is not the what the universe does.
The universe blends. The universe melds. The universe becomes uniform.
For Humanity, maturity requires comprehension and compassion.
There is no need to "fight" the universe.
Pain hurts. Cry it out. Tears, like water, wash wounds clean.
It is when pain is left unhealed inside one's heart, that a human being becomes desperate to control their world, so that they do not have to experience more pain in their already bleeding heart.
Humanity needs to cry.
Crying is natural.

"Tears, Like Water, Wash Wounds Clean."
= = = =
"Crying Is As Natural As Sweating.
Both Serve To Remove Poison From A Person.
Both Physical and Emotional."
In fact, their composition is the same : salt and water.
The need to suppress tears is a purely artificial construction and not human.
It is a manifestation of when human beings try to make themselves into robots, so they do not have to feel pain.
Poor Human Beings, including myself, just need to be told, that crying is natural, healthy, and as much a part of being human as breathing and eating, and, crying does not make one weak, it makes one : human.

The Vision You Have...
"The Vision You Have Of Yourself, Is The Map Guiding Your Life.
Know Your Vision, And Know Where You Are Going."
This is something I need to be aware of myself.
We all have a picture of ourselves in our mind, a picture of "who" we are.
We are not taught to reflect upon the vision we have of ourselves.
Our society operates on a "laissez-faire" attitude of "just let it go and it'll work itself out."
Don't worry about stuff, and Don't think too much, I mean, What can you do?
Unfortunately this attitude spills into our vision of ourselves and taints it with dismay and disillusionment.
It is important to look in the mirror of one's soul, at the vision one has of oneself.
You will see the person you are, have been, and are becoming.
All are changeable of course.
After all, the only "constant" is "change". ; )
I myself, need to look inwards deeply, ask myself what I truly (truly) want out of life, and change my future vision of myself to fit.
Know Your Vision.
Know Where You Are Going.
= = = =
"When You Can't Feel, And You Can't Think, Give Yourself Time.
As Much Time As You Need.
You Will Find Your Path Again."
It's a Physical Law.
Everything in the universe is always moving towards a state of balance.
Water, always tries to reach a state of balance.
Human beings are 70% water.
We are always striving to reach balance.
We just need to stop jarring ourselves long enough for us to settle again.

A Hot Element...
"A hot element needs to be cooled down before it can be touched.
Ice needs to be melted before it can be drunk.
Emotions need time to become integrated, understood, and acted upon."
Everything needs to be changed in some fashion to become usable by human beings, and this includes Human Feelings.
The variable in the usage of Human Feelings is : Time.
When a Human Being is given the time they need to integrate their Feelings, they can use them healthily.
= = = =
"If you do not feel you can be 'honest' with others, be 'honest' with yourself."
Honesty can be difficult.
Honesty with others can bring about great pain.
Pain is naturally something Human Beings seek to avoid.
If you cannot be honest with others, be honest with yourself.
Acting from a place of self honesty is a more stable place then acting in discord with one's true self.
The most important question to ask yourself is, "How do I feel?"
Feelings are the core of Human Beings, the source of Human Behavior.
Knowing your feelings, is knowing yourself.
Knowing yourself, you will act in accord with your personal truth, and this is the most "human" place from which to act.
