A person cannot separate themselves from their environment.
Both inexorably influence the other.
So saying something like,
"It doesn't matter where you go, you can still do anything.",
doesn't quite take into account the effects one's environment has on one's ability to do things.
It's hard to concentrate on studying when you are in the middle of a shopping mall.
